From the first conversation to the final installation, Brooke Aitken Design brings every layer of a project together.
A home, considered in its entirety.
The most successful homes feel effortless. Their spaces flow naturally, materials belong together, and each room carries a sense of quiet cohesion. Yet that ease is the result of hundreds of decisions - made thoughtfully, in the right order, and with the complete picture in mind.
For more than 20 years, Brooke Aitken Design has been creating residential projects defined by this holistic approach. Led by Brooke Aitken, the studio brings together architects and interior designers who work collaboratively from the outset, shaping homes that feel deeply connected in both form and feeling.
From early feasibility and spatial planning through to the final placement of furniture, artwork and objects, each project is guided by one experienced team and one clear design vision.
Experience that informs every decision
Brooke Aitken’s design perspective has been shaped over an extensive career spanning 35 years and experience in Asia, Europe and the USA. This breadth of exposure continues to inform the studio’s work today: a confident yet responsive approach to architecture and interiors, informed by global design thinking and grounded in the realities of everyday Australian life.
It is an approach that understands a home as more than a collection of beautiful rooms. A successful project must respond to its site, its architecture, its surrounding landscape and, most importantly, the lives of the people who will inhabit it.
Whether designing a new residence, undertaking a substantial renovation or refining a more compact apartment, the studio begins by listening closely. How do you live now? What needs to change? What should a home make possible in the years ahead?
These questions shape every subsequent decision.
Architecture and interiors, working as one
Often, clients engage an architect to establish the building, then bring in an interior designer later in the process. While each discipline brings important expertise, separating them can create gaps between the original architectural idea and the eventual lived experience of the home.
At Brooke Aitken Design, architecture and interiors are developed together. Our architects and interior designers collaborate across every stage, allowing the practical and emotional aspects of a home to evolve in parallel.
This creates continuity in the details that matter: the proportion of a room, the placement of a window, the way a kitchen functions, the transition between materials, the integration of lighting, and the scale of custom joinery. Decisions are made with an understanding of what comes next, rather than as isolated selections added at the end.
For clients, it also creates a simpler, more assured process. There is no need to manage separate design teams, interpret competing recommendations or coordinate a handover between architecture and interiors. Instead, you have one point of view, supported by a multidisciplinary team with the experience to take a project from initial concept through to completion.
A tailored process, from beginning to end
Every Brooke Aitken Design project is individual, but our full-service offering can include:

Recognition, with substance
Over the years, Brooke Aitken Design’s work has been recognised across leading industry awards and design publications. These acknowledgements are a welcome reflection of the care, imagination and technical rigour behind each project.
More importantly, they speak to a consistent body of work: homes that balance distinctive design with a genuine understanding of how people want to live. Elegant but liveable. Highly resolved but never overworked. Personal in character, designed to endure.
Begin with the whole picture
A home should feel cohesive not only when it is complete, but throughout the experience of creating it. With architecture and interiors considered together from the first conversation, Brooke Aitken Design offers clients a more connected path from idea to outcome.
